having a hell of a time getting the tensioner off. tried a rubber mallet a few good times and wedge and hamer between the surface of the tensioner and cylinder face with no success. is there something maybe to break down the gasket cement between surfaces or a trick you've learned along the way.

I have never really heard of anything and I work with these situations nearly every day (auto technician) ... that being said I sometimes use penetrating oil (something like seafoam deep creep or PB blaster) also I have sometimes missed a bolt (being a professional that sucks LOL)

all bolts were out. only six and i had double checked and triple checked after the first couple whacks. turns out by the time it took to write my question and go back out, one more try with a wedge and an easy thump with a brass hamer and presto. thanks though.
