Can anyone identify this and if it's a concern?

Been restoring a 1980 XS650. Have been cleaning the engine and trying to paint the case and heads. When cleaning the lower front case, a small piece of the metal chipped off and reveals what seems to be some type of pin below it (as best I can describe it). Not sure what it is, if it needs to be fixed and how it should be repaired. Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

Its a little ball to block of the end of the oil passage to the crank. Its fine. Smear a bit of jb weld and sand it pretty if you like

Here's another pic with close-up view of the area

That's a cross-drilled hole for an oil feed passage. They drove in a little ball to seal it and your cleaning has removed enough road-mung to reveal the ball. Not a big deal(as long as it is still sealed-up.
