I'd like to run a rear 36 spoke rim in back and front. That means using a raingutter rear on back and front - question is, can I lace a rear raingutter rim to a front hub using the front hub spokes?

if the spoke patterns are similar, ... ...

I can't wrap my brain around this one. Hep me somebody.

EDIT: the reason for doing this is I want to run balloon tires in front and back old school cruiser style.

edit: ok the stock front raingutter is 19"... not 18...

I guess you could cut and tap the 19" spokes down. Man, that seems possible but probably outside of my skill range.

You use RD350 front spokes. They had an 18" front wheel. May be others as well like the XS360 and 400 (don't know for sure, you'd have to check). The spoke holes in the rear 18" rim may need drilling to change the spoke angle. I never did this but it's supposed to be easy. You're not really drilling the holes, just reaming them at a different angle.
