Hello all,

My 71 was running a bit crappy on the left side. and after some advice from a fellow member, i checked the carb diaphragms. i noticed on the left side that the PO must have done some sort of garage repair on one. it looked as if he painted over the hole in hopes of sealing it. it worked since i have owned the bike but now i need help. The replacement carbs from Mikes are a lot of money. and after a search found JBM Industries.

My questions are, has anyone used JBM with good luck? after reading the instructions i am very confident i can do this. Also should i replace only one or both? i would hate to ruin a good diaphragm if i dont need to. If not, should i just cough up the money and replace the one from Mikes?

Thanks in advance.

Oh, yeah, several good reports on the JBM Industries diaphragms. A forum search on 'JBM' will get you numerous threads, like:

Hi Jay,
these guys?

I'd say you'd do better with them than with Mike's sometimes dubious rubber parts.
Buy two diaphragms but change the bad diaphragm first so if you duff up the first attempt you have a second chance.

I am pretty sure you want to do both sides at the same time, AFAIK the rubber is heavier may change the rate the slide lifts a bit, best to have both sides raising at the same rate!
