When you replace the gas tee is their some type of o ring washers that make the seal? Who sells a replacement gas tee with whatever makes it seal between carbs
Thanks Chris

harmonc,

The original "T" can be reclaimed and used again.

1. Start by stripping the rubber coating off of it.
2. Then, cut two sections of 1/4 Neoprene gas line and insert them into the cab inlets.
3. Start to press the "T" into the Neoprene inserts in each carb
4. Use a clamp to squeeze the carbs together.
5. Check the length of the Neoprene sections to ensure they are not collapsing in the carb inlets.

Pete, Thanks for this fix.

I cranked my XS late yesterday for the first time since a rebuild that included a rebuild of my carbs-- gas was gushing out of one end of the Tee so I carried it to the nearest Yamaha dealer who told me he was out, the Tee is no longer made and a Yamaha dealer in New Jersey has the last two in the world. I called the NJ dealer and was told they had just sold their last two and would not be getting any more.

So I came to the forum and searched for "carb Tee" which brought me here.

An hour later I was riding again.

Thanks!
