Clearcoat ?

After removing the old *clear coat* and polishing the aluminum side covers, should I repaint them with new *clear coat* to keep that nice polished look ?

Don't know, but some use the clear that the guys use are using on aluminum car wheels.

Others like to just keep polishing. (Blue Magic said to be good).

Once stripped and polished, your aluminum parts will stay nice with just an occasional application of polish such as AutoSol or Mothers Aluminum polish. Any clear coat that will stand up to abuse will also mask a lot of your hard earned shine, in my experience.

Don't use any clear coat sprays. I agree with Royboy.................use Autosol as required.

Hi Rich,
like Royboy sez, it's a polishing compound. Works great too.
Warning:- Do not use it for toothpaste, the abrasive medium is finely ground birdshit.

Thanks, just wondering because I was polishing my clutch cover and it seem look the clear coat was coming off, so i stop or should I keep going
