I've adjusted my clutch but finding Neutral has been a pain :cussing:, and today trying to shift back and forth even from First to Second was near impossible. I'm thinking I'll just rebuild the whole clutch. Might be as simple as the needle bearing, but in a 30 year old bike with ~20,000 miles on it, I'd feel better just starting fresh. Here's my shopping list:

(6) Friction Plates
(1) Clutch Hub Lock Tab
(1) Clutch Boss Retaining Wire
(1) Clutch Hub Spring Washer
(1) Needle Bearing w/ Hub Washer
(1) Right Side Clutch Cover Gasket

And while I'm in there:

(1) Set of Upgraded Clutch Springs
(1) Set of Upgraded Spring Screws

So here's the questions. Anything here I'm obviously missing? While I have that cover off, does it make sense to do any other upgrades? Thanks!

Since the cover is off, rebuild or blueprint the oilpump. Maybe install that bigger pump thats listed in Mikes?

Take cable off the lever end.
Loosen the locking nut at the bottom.
Turn the screw in until it just bottoms out (contacts).
Turn back a quarter turn.
Tighten lock nut.
Re-attach cable at lever and adjust for lever play.

It's pretty much an identical process on my V-Star 1100, and I've done that plenty of times with no problem.

The quarter turn is just too mutch I have found. I would try 1/16 turn no play at the lever works better. once you ride you ride for awhile you can adjust at the lever if your clutch starts to drag . It's abalancing act between drag and slipping.
