Crankshaft shims

Am I right in assuming that the only shims on the crankshaft are between the bearings and the crankshaft webs.

There should be shims (thrust bearing wahers) on either side of the rod for axis loads. There should be actual shims between flyweight and crank bearing for lateral play.
