Hi, i'm planning to cut the loop so iT isn't visible anymore when installing the cafe Seat.

Do i have to reinforce the frame By wending a bar between the cut Ends?

Thanks

Welcome to the site
Might be a good idea.
Yamaha put it there for a reason and I'm sure it was for strength.
But when I bought my XS it had the loop cut out and nothing was welded back in place.
It seamed okay to me.

I had cut the loop off for my xs650 bobber, but I left the brace under the seat between the shock mounts. I have over 10K on the bike since without a problem.

Hi bert and welcome,
like they said, yes you can but the frame seems strong enough to survive without it.
And that's Lanaken in Belgium, right?
There's enough fiddly little differences between North American, European and Asian market XS650s that a reply that's right for one may be wrong for another.

Bar welded in place (used the rear fender holders)
Bar is a real good base for securing the cafe seat.

Now it's time to cut his xs-butt...

Um... that looks pretty low, will the tire clear with the shocks fully compressed?

Measure twice, weld once?
