There's something about jumping some wires after you remove the reserve lighting unit, I don't recall just now.

I tossed mine so long ago, I can't remember what I had to change in the wiring, but I believe it was the taillight. I ripped it out, looked for what didn't work and rewired it, easy!
After you pull the RLU, find the blue/black and the blue/yellow wires that are in the remainig block and link them together.
I'm still trying to figure out just exactly what it does...

the way i understand it is if your low beam burns out it automatically switches your headlight to the the high beam.
It does that, and on some years it runs the power thru a resistor to light the high beam at about half brightness.
Sound like a good thing. I think I'll keep mine.
