do I need to change starter clutch

Have a 81, 12k miles did the top end due to oil leaks, pulled off the right side to polish. I know they upgraded the parts I believe after 79 but since I'm there should I swap it out?

I don't think there is such a thing as a starter "clutch" in these. They do have a problem with the #4 starter gear grinding and if yours does, might as well apply this free "fix" while you're in there .....
