Hey guys I have an 81 tci that possibly took a dump. Replaced coil everything checks out though pickup, battery fully charged etc. Anyhow was looking at pamco ignitions and wasn't sure if for some reason they need the PMA swap also to work? Stock charging system still works flawlessly so really don't want to spend another 300$ if I don't need to. Also I wired the bike from scratch bare bones bobber harness. The bike would cut out bad at around 3500 rpm ( guessing no tach) when I got home idled fine I shut it off tried to restart and no spark, even after new coil.

Nope the Pamco will operate just fine with a stock charging system. But just as a fyi if you were to replace a stock TCI charging system with a PMA you would have to get a Pamco, points or some other cam triggered ignition.
