Would really like to give the xs a dry clutch. Perhaps some of the over achievers like travis and cowboy might have a word to say about it. Actually would really like to hear from anyone with an interest and or expeirence building one.It just seems to me to be well worth it and I don't know why more people are not talking about it or giving it a shot

I assume dry clutches handle more torque? Keep the oil cleaner/cooler?

and make alot of noise. I do find them to be a grabby though.

There are no benefits to running a dry clutch on a XS. Other than the cool sound!
You must be talking about a different travis.... I don't think I've done anything too radical (over achieving) to an XS. My hydraulic clutch is far easier than a dry clutch.

The plates wear out faster, and the baskets get hammered to shit. The only benefit is the plates for me to change are like 10 minutes. sound, cleaner oil....faster plate change.
Yes, have the same thaught myself.
My engine is now 'under construction' by XS genius Heiden tuning.
Already made it clear, loving to have a dry clutch.
And yes, the DUCATI clutch is being used for this.
But, it still is under construction.
It's not like there's gonna be a bunch of Dry clutches on the shelf waiting to be picked up.
And that my friend is the whole problem in it's self.
The expectation of people want to by a Dry clutch is not to high.
So development is slow or grinds to a halt.
I don't know right now.
Go to Jerry tomorrow, i'll ask him about the progress.
But think it'l be no bargain.
