Im fitting my e-advancer tonight and I'm finding the top pin does not fit deep enough into its respective hole to allow the aluminum advance replacement to slide over. I've trying probing the hole with a pick to make sure nothing is inside but it seems the pin is to long or the slot in the replacement cap to shallow? Has anyone run into this? I don't want to grind the pin down if I don't have to.

Awesome. I also found jradvance filed the pin on his bike. But since I like to keep my stock parts I'll give the dremel shank thing a go.

Thanks for the tip.

P. S.: that thread is gold. Will have to read the rest

There are two different lengths of pin available, so you have one of the longer ones. Filing it down just makes it one of the shorter pins which is still stock. I noticed you had the spark plug removed in the above picture while you were working with the pin!
