I got another #4 gear on the starter, behind the clutch. That works and now the starter turns the engine over.
The #4 gear doesn't want to disengage now. A couple of times the gear disengaged and then went back towards the center of the engine, or re-engaged and sits in the engaged position.
I oiled the heck out of everything and checked the drawing and it looks like I have the parts together correctly. Both of the coil springs seem pretty flimsly / weak but that's the way they seem to be.
Any suggestions? Thanks.
