When the engine is idling it is a nice steady idle then its like it quits running for a split second and then idles fine again for a few seconds and then it does it again.... I also does this some times right when I take off from a stop. Its like some one turns the key off and back on really fast.... Carburetor, ignition??????????

Sounds like its a faulty electrical contact/connector. Could be things such as ignition switch, main fuse, ignition fuse if you have one, kill switch, etc.

You could do a simple test.................idle the engine; run a jumper wire directly from the battery positive to the coils input. If the problem goes away, then you know you have to check all the electrical connections/switches.

could be almost anything...what you done to the bike lately.

If I had to guess, check-clean the fuel valve/petcocks, most commonon problem . Better to install new manual ones. Spray the plug wires with WD-40 and all under the tank and take it for a ride and see what happens.

If your lights flash for a second it's electrical.
