I went into this enthusiastically, but it seems I bit off more than I could chew. That being said, I wouldn't want my efforts to go entirely to waste. I wanted to put a lot into this project, so I acquired a few performance parts. They were meant for 1983 model, and include:
-Hot cam from WebCam racing cams. 359a regrind. ($550)
Good for mid and upper end performance.
-Cylinder head and rocker cover. ($400)
Vapor blasted to a clean finish, ported to 36mm and comes with
new Kibblewhite valves with titanium retainers and performance spring kit.
-Rebuilt crankshaft from Gary Hoos. ($1,950)
Welded pins. Comes with Carrillo con rods.
-Valve covers from analog motors. ($250)
-Shell racing cam covers. ($75)
-Vape (formally Powerdynamo) ignition system with advance CDI. ($650)
Alternative to the HHB PMA Charing & CDI Ignition System.
-Transmission set with Xs750 internals. ($75)
Specifically the third and fifth gears and dogs. Stronger with less wear. Same gear ration.
This post is to gauge interest in specific parts. Prices are as is, but will entertain reasonable offers. I'd like to make back at least some of what I invested. Worst that can be said is no. If anyone is interested in the full assembled engine, it will take some time and effort, so the final price will reflect that. I have other stock and aftermarket components, but would need to clear through them. Those can be requested as well. Sad to see this all go, but got other priorities. My loss, your gain.
