Engine sound, now with video

Here ya go:

I have VM34s on my 700 shell motor and you can hear the carbs suckin.

You just added long intakes so, maybe that's what you're hearing.

Does the bike run better or worse since the upgrade?

Like blackbetty I think you are hearing it suck air.
The ticking may be your valve adjustment a little loose.

Hit the share button under the video on you tube and you get this:

Then hit the youtube icon to get this {YOUTUBE}{/YOUTUBE}

All you need to put in between is what comes after the / on the youtube url, in this case, sHdfwogHxJg

Also, if ever I'm paranoid ab a noise etc, I'll readjust valves, reset timing chain tension, and change the oil/clean the filter. If there's nothing out of place there, then I'd call it good.

When doing valve adjustments, I like to take a small flashlight and peer into the tappet holes on the head just to see how the cam lobes etc. are doing.

valves are dead on, Ive gone over them a dozen times. The ticking is from the bottom RH side of the engine. Hugh mentioned that the whirring sound which isnt all that loud in this video but very loud while im riding is most likely the cam chain guide self destructing. I think hes right.
