factory locknuts

I am rebuilding my bike and i notice it has the stock locking nuts on some bolts. Can I replace these with the newer style nylon locknuts? What does everybody else do? The replacement nuts are way pricey.

I just threw all mine in the blaster and reused them.

I reused mine but, bolt length allowing, added a lock washer. The all metal style of locknut Yamaha used seems to grip less the more times you have it on and off.

I thought about reusing them. I just thought if there was a good alternative then I would try all new hardware.
