I'm getting ready to start making my fiberglass cafe seat and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on what brand, type, and retailer of fiberglass products.
West systems epoxy resin and hardener http://www.westsystem.com/ss/ I use it all the time for strip canoes and Kayaks I buy from my local boat yard but they have a dealer locator on their site
Ditto what GMiller said. I made a living making parts out of West Systems Epoxy for six years. Great stuff, user friendly, handy pumps to meter it. You can't go wrong with it, and it's many times better than polyester resin.
for a small project like a seatpan, stuff from the local parts store will work just fine. polyester resin and glass mat doesnt really care if there is a brand name attached to it.
Epoxy resins are superior as said above . . just depends on wehther the small amount you will need is worth the expense. You could go to the auto parts store and get polyester resin and cloth and do just fine.
