It's taken me weeks to finally save up enough to get this 1979 XS650. So far I've had it for one day and it isn't too bad. I like it. It's different than anything else I've ridden. I've only taken one picture, but I'll be adding more.

Kinda has that Brit-rat bike look to it. Cool lookin'. What's your plans for it?

looks sweet. Definatly has that brit feel. I like it. Enjoy it no matter what you do with it. I suggest riding it.

I like the tank and the seat isn't bad. But I'm pretty short, I'm 5'6, and my torso is real long and I have kinda short legs, so I'd definitely like to lower the seat. I've seen people stick a crotch rocket rear end on it and I'd definitely like to do that and extend it if possible. It's going to look pretty beastly when I'm done with it. I'd like to put drag bars on it because since I'm used to sport bikes I tend to lean forward anyways, it would be more comfortable for me. It has the 2 into 1 exhaust. There's a baffle thing screwed on to the end of the muffler, I'm considering taking it off to make it obnoxiously loud. I'm also thinking about taking the front fender off as well. I like the ones I've seen without it. Thanks for everyone's input!

I rode from Colorado Springs, CO up Highway 24 to Woodland Park, then on to Cripple Creek. From there I went to Victor and down Gold Camp Road back to Colorado Springs. Here are some pictures.
The first is a picture of the bike on top of the pass. The second is Cripple Creek town proper. Third is the sign at the beginning of Gold Camp Road. The last is the tunnel on this particular piece of road.

I discovered that due to the 22 mile-long dirt road, Gold Camp, I broke the headlight bulb. Needing one immediately I just improvised and I like what I did. Instead of replacing the impossible-to-find bulb, I took the whole assembly off and bolted on a couple off road lights. I think it turned out pretty well especially for being a spur-of-the-moment deal. It took an hour from start to finish...all of which I did with what I had in the Wally World parking lot!

The last picture is my Turbo Junky keychain that finally came in the mail!
