Just finished my winter bike work, in May. This is what I did over the last several months.

Tapered steering bearings
Bronze swing arm bushings
Permanent magnet alternator - Mr. Riggs adaptor, banshee rotor, VFR500 stator
New simplified wiring harness
Removed battery box and extra frame tabs
Made under-seat fiberglass tray to hold capacitor and wiring
Painted the wheels
Rotors drilled - http://www.anubiscycle.com/
New tires - Bridgestone Spitfire
MX throttle - http://www.motionpro.com/motorcycle/partno/01-0056/
Custom throttle cable - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Venhill-Universal-Throttle-Cable-Kit-/120709521848
Kill switch - http://www.trailtech.net/040-HBS-01.html
Carbs rebuilt

I took it out yesterday for the first time since the work began late last fall. The most noticeable difference is the steering, my bike was practically a straight line bike before I replaced the bearings, now it feels so nimble, its amazing.

The other thing I really noticed was the way my headlight, turn signals and horn weaken dramatically when idling at a light due to the permanent magnet alternator. It also take a few kicks to get it started. Whatever, I can live with that, I did it all for looks anyway.

In terms of finish, I just don't have the interest or patience to do a showroom quality work, I only cleaned and painted what I took off and did a hasty job of it.

Thanks to all for answering my wiring questions, providing the resources for the PMA and everything else!

Thats the bees knees...

Good job with the work!
I like the flat track style/dirt bars.

Oh but why even have the passenger pegs?

I like the throttle its very subtle, but sweet! I'm a big fan of the street tracker look
