First buike, first build XS650

I'm going to use the stock radian axle because it is 17mm which is also the size of the front wheel axle so the front hub was a straight fit :).

I will have the shock mounts changed more to the inside. Anyone got any tips on what size of shocks to use?

That caliper looks okay. 2 piston non floating.

Somebody mentioned RD/RZ brackets.
I've just found a cheap one on Fleabay and will try that on mine I think.

Here's the pic of the modern R6 rear caliper and bracket, which i think most are like now. The elongated slot bolts directly to the top of the arm. To make it fit a Radian arm I'd have to make a pedestal. Downside is it's bang in the way of the shock. So would only work with a mono shock conversion.
