Looks as thoug I have been plagued with the common problem of a bad shift fork. I finished assembly on my bike and took it on the first ride and it is making a terrible noise in first gear and slipping horribly. All other gears are fine and I can take off in sewcond with no problem. So after some reading it seems that it is probably shift forks.
What are my best options I see plenty on ebay but mine is a 83 special. Will any of the forks work I know the gears changed in 78. I am thinking about ordering gears as well just in case.
