OK, so there are 3 connectors on the flasher I take that one is 12v power, ground and switch, how do I know witch is witch?

That diagram Wheel put up matches the '81, so....

Brown is power.
The Brown/White goes to the switch.
The Yellow/Green goes to the Canceling Unit, so it's impossible to say for certain, but the powers of deduction sez it's the ground?

The stock 3 wire turn signal switch does NOT have a direct aftermarket replacement you CAN use a two wire or provide a ground that aftermarket cans need.

Well, thank you all for your help, I found the auto-cancelling unit and unplugged it, the turn signals work great now.
