I have been a lurker here for a couple months, and today I bought my first big bike; a '83 Heritage Special. For the past several years I have been doing vintage and antique 2t Vespas, but when my daily rider threw a cir-clip and washer into the crankcase, I decided it was time for something new.

I could never control myself when it comes to modification, so I can pretty much guarantee it will not remain stockish for long. I am already planning the ignition and charging upgrades, from there I am not sure what I will do. Thanks in advance for the help I will pull from the boards.

Welcome to one of the best boards on the net. Most everyone here is really helpful and knowledge is easy to come by on these bikes. If it can be done, likely it's been done by someone on this board.

Huzzah! I finally figured out how the take the seat off to get to the battery to put it on the charger. Kind of embarrassing, but it made the wife laugh.
