hey guys just picked up a 1972 xs650 that was stored in a barn for 25 years. it has 25000 miles on it and i plan on restoring it back to original and getting some nice clubman bars . the previous owner repainted it. just looking for some info to get her going . im in the process of cleaning the tank out right now! hope you like her!

picked her up for 700 bucks off craigslist, was originally trying to build a bobber but this classic is getting restored, its in too good of shape to hack in my opinion thanks for looking and i look forward to learning everything about these bikes - Brett

Nice find. :thumbsup: I had the same intentions as you when I found my '75. just can't cut it up...... I' really liking that Falcon too! :D
 
Damn, that really looks good for 25 years in a barn. Must be a lot of difference in barns, mine looked like hell when I got it out of a barn. Good luck and enjoy.

Your right about the barns around here.. I'm in Jonesboro, Ar. That thing would be dusty and full of mud dobber nest it canme from this area....
 
36 yo and it looks that fine? From a barn? Was it in it's own climate controled room with no windows? For $700? NICE find!! Nice lookin' Falcon too! Ride it with pride.
 
thanks guys! the falcon is a work in progress but what isnt. it needs a few things here and there, the tank is the major part it was stored without any gas in the tank so it was rusted pretty bad inside but its cleaning out nicely
 
Yeah that is the kind of bike to start a restoration on. Keep the posts coming.
 
Wow... NICE early bike! :) I respectfully concur with your plan... a very gentle resto-mod seems like just the way to go.
