Fork Swap question

Hey guys, i need to know if the 79 forks will fit the 71 triple tree.

Right now we have the 71 xs650 but with the small top end break caliper.

i want to upgrade to the bigger caliper, that sits to the back side of the fork.

will i also be able to keep the stock 71 wheel axle, and the disc as well to fit the 79 fork and new caliper?

Going from this crappy caliper

to this one with banjo bolt.

but need to know if i can keep the triple tree setup, axle / wheel / disc and just swap forks + break caliper.

They won't fit. I think it was 75 when they went to a slightly larger fork tube.

just an fyi for you, that crappy caliper once cleaned up or rebuilt is a 2 piston that works just as good as the later model one.
