Guys I'd like to put a 17.5 x 18 ratio master cylinder (just for the hell of it) onto a standard single-pot caliper from a 1978. Is this a problem, or perfectly ok?

I'm not familular with that designation for a M/C. What does the 17.5x18 represent?
I'm with gggGary on this one, The stainless steel lines with the 10 or 11 mm M/C works the charm.

Hi Leo,
my guess is that Paul is using x instead of or and the ratio right after is between the areas of the master cylinder and brake caliper seals.
