G'Day Fellas, Can any of you help me to identify who made the fuel tank on this bike? I am looking for one that is as low as I can get for my standard 650-B frame.

G'day Pete.

I'm certain that I read somewhere, but can be darned that I can find it now, that the tank is a very heavily sectioned Sportster tank that they did themselves.

You can start to see a Sportster tank silhouette in the pictures and video below.

The Motoshop Tonouchi XS650 was one of the inspirations for my build, however, I went down a different path for a low slung teardrop shaped tank.

I commissioned a BSA Bantam tank with custom additions, and modified the tunnel even further to get it too sit nice and low.

Something to consider with such a low tank is the fuel outlets and top engine mount should you plan to run one. I made my own slimline top engine mount for mine.

I must point out that since I'm not somebody that has access to proper tools and isn't knowledgeable when it comes to this level of metalwork, the customised tank that I have has cost me much more than anticipated.

Cheers

Steve
