The smaller nipple is for a vacuum line. You have a vacuum powered petcock and it won't flow unless you supply it with that vacuum. There should be vacuum nipples on your intake manifolds to run a line from. Use one, cap the other. Here's mine. The small orange line is the vacuum line from manifold to petcock .....

Well, yes it will, but the "Prime" position draws off the reserve feed pipe. When you run out of gas, you will really be completely out with no back-up. That's no way to set one of these up.

Can someone offer some insight about putting a custom tank on a 650?

I would imagine that I have to use a 650 petcock. Or do I?

Do I need to run two petcocks, or is one with a T in the fuel line sufficient?

And then what's the most efficient way to do it? Close up the existing holes from the custom tank and drill out a new spot for the 650 petcock?
