I have the Mikes xs Commando mufflers (with the removable plugs in the end) I find them very quiet.
At idle can hardly hear the bike running. Not sure what the originals sounded like but I had a 1980 xs G
and the stock mufflers on that sounded much better and definitely louder/deeper sound. Ive read about
drilling or punching a hole thru the baffle to increase sound and possibly less restriction. What are your thoughts on this.Size of punch or drill bit.How far do I drill (all the way to the header pipes.) These are the
Mikes headers that came with pipes with tipped up ends .I think there 1.5" but might be wrong.
Ive tried removing the plugs but did not notice much if any difference in sound.Thx
