Going without signals

If you are worried about forgetting to cancel your turn signal, you can always install a buzzer to remind you. My '74 CB750 has a turn signal buzzer. It's very irritating, but it does remind me to cancel, and ironically, when I ride my other bikes, I notice that the buzzer is absent, so that too reminds me to cancel. I think that Pavlov must have done some of his dog salivating experiments with a turn signal buzzer.

As for the legality of turn signals, regardless of what your state laws may say about them, it's the insurance company that really enforces them if they were part of the OEM equipment, so when you make that fatal left turn without turn signals and end up in full traction at the ICU, your insurance company will not be happy. Oh, they will pay for the damages all right, but then they will come after you for insurance fraud because you didn't tell them about the missing turn signals. If you had told them, they wouldn't have insured you.
