Hey guys, threw in a battery a bit of wiring and hung some old carbs on er and after a few kicks Old Goldie came to life. This bike hasnt fired since 1983 when it was put into storage. I used a plastic lawnmower fuel tank tie wrapped to the handlebars and blew some gas in the carbs with a piece of fuel line to prime her and she ran good till gas started to pour out the right carb. Oh well rebuilt carbs are home next week. hey ive got the fueltank blues man I can seem to get all the crap out of it no matter what. Ive used two types of rust remover and :bike:a shaker chain, chemical cleaner and deoxidizer but nothins workin. Any ideas?

If that doesn't work put some course sand in it and start rotating it for a few hours/days. Basiclly sandblasting the inside. I've heard of some guys putting a bunch of small metal nuts in the tank as well.

don't put sand in your tank, you will never get it all out. small nuts and bolts, or even drywall screws will work.

Maybe you will want to use a liner that doesn't require bare metal?
Or maybe you weren't planning on a liner.
