I have been in NC for the last week and what beautiful country. Was up in the mountains in Mars Hill for my sons wedding. Almost crashed car need 4 wheeler here . Then went to Ashville to check it out super nice place friendly people. Now getting my butt in gear to drive the 10 hours back to NJ from Carolina Beach. Got to get back too much at garage to do with 5 motors still to be done and race guys going crazy.
If you ever want to visit a place and get your zone back in order I think I found heaven here in NC. JUST BRING A 4 WHEELER car just don't cut it in the mountains and don't chase the bears they kind of chase back. Good thing we had a real WOLF at the cabins he likes chasing them back into the woods.
I hate Driving BEAM ME UP SCOTTY!!!!!

Was in that area once about 30 years ago, had an offer at Research Triangle Park. Beautiful country, strangely different from Texas hill country, with all those tall pines. Buddy of mine said to make sure that a cruise on the Blue Ridge Skyway is on the bucket list...

There aren't to many back roads in NC that aren't interesting. But I spend most my time in Florida. The land of 360 days of riding time and 3 corners.

Coming out of the mountains you don't even need gas pedal. I was on RTE 26 and was just going three exits and without touching the pedal I was doing 85 mph. Hills are straight down with catch area for run away trucks. I would have loved to have a XS on there bet I could break 110 mph. Now coming back my poor 14 year old car was singing a bad toon HAHA. Have to come back maybe for the shootout end of the month. Never got there yet either got to lighten my load there is just so much to see and very little time. I asked before why people here dive to the side of the road when it rains and got the answer so I was one of them who also dived to the side of the road and the HAIL that comes down is super big and does some damage. GOOD OLD MOTHER NATURE LOL

Back around '81 went to Orlando on a job offer. Remember that sinkhole that swallered a sports-car dealership there? I was staying at an inn about 2 blocks away when it happened.

That was the first time and the last time I've been in Florida...

In '81 I was still back in Idaho. If you had told me then that I would live in Florida one day I would have called you crazy.
