Hairics Build

Keep it - dont sell!

You wont get any where near what you have put into it for a start.

Dont think of the Project as one big one. Break it down into chunks or sections. You'll be able to devote all your attention to one area at a time. Once thats done move on to the next or have two going on together (eg painting)

You see a lot of Projects for sale where people have "lost interest" or "bitten off more than they can chew". Rubbish - just remember why you started it in the first place :)

Take your time, dont rush and never set at deadline :)

You'll do just fine!

Yeah its not the build thats the issue, Just have allot of other things trying to come into play and All I want to do is spend my time and money to getting this thing going, Then when I finally think I can get something done on it Something else comes up and pushes me back, Just gets old after awhile. And not to mention I need to get this thing done soon because the renovation that is going to be starting on my house hopefully in the near future is going to be removing one of my garages( the one I use to park the vehicles in ) for an addition to the house, So gonna need the space for the vehicles... But I think I will keep it for now and do what I can while I can.. THanks all for the support.

Ok made a little time to get into the shop today, Did a little metal work, Mostly for ideas, I removed the neck gussets and built me a stencil, eventually welded the new gussets in then realized how terrible they look... THoughts, I think I will take them off and come up with something different, Then as I stared at my empty frame I got to wondering what kind of seat and springs I was gonna do, then it hit me, CAnt tell you what hit me just yet, but I decided to create a seat pan and started on the mounting hardware. Again dont know if I will use any of it just yet but will need somthing to use when it comes to the seat spring. any way pics below, and sorry for any typing errors im exhausted.

p.s the seat pan is not even close to being done if i decide to take it any further, second the little "hinge" was spot welded to hold together, also I keep forgetting to take a picture of my new and improved homeade media blaster but in the forth picture behind the welder is it, Works real good but i do need more media as i lost most in the last one I had cause it leaked so bad.

I would think that with the seat pan you previously posted you would want to keep it pretty flat since it doesn't have a whole lot of kick up in the rear. If you were running a seat with more kick up then I would say drop it down a little bit. It also depends on how much the seat sinks when you sit on it.

Yeah the seat pan i was making was just to get the feel of this set up. I do want one with more kick in the rear. The metal i used it to thin i think unless i double it up and spot weld it and honestly i think i would rather just pick up one of these custom made ones the guy is making on here. I also think i have about 2 inches of clearance at the bottom when i bounce but can't tell, need to find someone to sit on it while I measure the clearance. Was also thinking about putting it further in the front of the seat pan to make it more straight up and down.

Ok need some help here guys, Finally gonna order me some tires and get this thing to rolling, however I have read the tires section And im confused, My front rim is 19x1.85 thats all it says. my rear is 3.0x16, thats all that says, What tire Should I be looking for on it, I was thinking these

the 19 front and 16 rear, but not sure if they will fit, can somone clarify this for me. thanks

also the fatter the tires the better imo, but i dont know how fat I can go.

Hey man!! Glad you are carrying on with this build!!! That seat setup is awesome!

I agree, you should straighten the shock up a bit, it will work better, but it will also make it less rigid, so something to play about with.

Thanks man I am glad im not selling too.... I may ditch the seat setup i got atm though, Im gonna get the seat spring kit and see what I like better.

In other news, I have decided to do the bigbore kit, reason being I can either pay somone to bore the cylinders, have to buy new pistons and rings, or I can upgrade the motor now and save the money. So can somone chime in and tell me if I will be looking at more than just the big bore. Second the tires and tubes will be ordered soon to, same time as the big bore, Also going to get the headlamp, tail light, license plate bracket, Risers, which brings me to a question I seem to find all 7/8 risers and 1 inch bars, where are the 7/8 bars or do the 1 inch fit fine in the 7/8 risers? also getting the tc bros forward controls and linkage, brake pivot, brake switch, seat and seat mount with springs... THinking the 5 inch not sure yet, am going to get the do it yourself rear fender and make it my own. Still confused about the electric/ignitions on the motor, I want to do the best style there is so if someone can again explain to me what I will need that would be awesome cause I plan to get that at the same time as parts above. I'm hoping all these parts will keep me busy for awhile but only time will tell.

Ha ha so I did some more reading on the big bore and I am now thinking I will just steer clear of that and go stock... Just dont know what I want to do:doh:

I hear ya man. There are always obstacles in the way. Time, money, motavation...
I hit a wall in my build. without time and money, I guess there is no motavation.
I started picking away at mine again, winter is the time when you're supposed to get the most done. Lol
Just make a point of doing at least one thing a day besides admiring it. I'm the worst at that. Just gotta remember why we started this.
