Headlight ear removal

Simple and straight forward question:
How do you remove the stock headlight ears?
Do you pull the forks down until you can pull off the ears or is there trick?

Pull the fork out and loosen and lift the upper yoke a bit. There's a rubber piece at each end - pay attention to exactly where they were and how they were turned before they fell on the ground

It is not necessary to pull the forks. If you loosen the upper triple tree and remove it from the yoke, you can move the triple out of the way enough to remove the ears one at a time. You can even leave the handle bars in place, but you will have to disconnect the speedo and tach cables.

Yep, remove the fork or contend with not removing it, either way will work

Pete the process you described worked perfectly. It was so simple I kinda feel stupid asking now that I've done it.
