Headlight Swap

Hello, I am working on my 76 and want to change the headlight. Has any one used a 5 3/4" Bates style and tried to fit the stock wire mess in it? I dont really want to go to a stretched light. Thanks for any input.

I just sold one of those headlights namely because I cant fit anything in it besides the wiring for the headlight itself. The stock birds nest would never fit in there.. unless it was all flattened out somehow.. I went for an 8 inch Kawasaki Replica light myself..
