Danged if I didn't do it again!
Craigslist perusing and spotted an original owner '72 XS-2. It had an early '70's custom paint job and custom seat but $1200 or best offer.
Yep, bought it for a bit less than he wanted ($800)...on the condition he got to keep the custom painted tank as a memento...fair enough I say.
I can certainly appreciate that he wanted to keep the tank for sentimental reasons and couldn't say no to that.
So now I have the "Tri-Fecta" I've been looking for.
A '70 XS-1, 71 XS-1B, and now a '72 XS-2.
That's not to mention all the other late 70's Specials and a couple of 77 Standards that I bought for spare motors and shouldered rims for a future Street Tracker project or two...man, I think I may indeed have a problem?
I cant help it...these things keep going up in price and when a good deal pops up that needs work for a reasonable price I cant help but snag it.
