Just got back from a trip to Devils Canyon on the BMW. Rode some great roads. We left Coeur D Alene on hwy 95 and picked up 129 out of Clarkston Wa. 129 turns into 3 at the Oregon border. Great road overlooking Joseph Canyon. Stopped at Joseph Canyon lodge and had the best apple pie in a very long time with ice tea. Young couple just bought the place so stop in for a bite if you go. Stayed the night in Enterprise Or. Mountains are beautiful there. From there we went into Joseph which is 6 miles from Enterprise and visited Wollowa lake which is pristine. Hells Canyon scenic byway starts in Joseph. Great road but a little rough in places and quite remote. Only saw a few cars and a herd of Elk. Hells Canyon overlook is accessed on this road. Quite impressive. This road will take you to the dam road. Its a 40 (in and out)mile private road to the dam filled with tar snakes but well worth the drive. We took 71 back into Idaho and this was a spectacular ride filled with curves and maybe a mile of straight road. 71 takes you back to 95. We took 95 to 12 to 3 to 8 to 9 to 6 and back on 95 into Coeur D Alene. This whole loop is nothing but scenic and 750 miles.
The only down side is I wasn't feeling the best on the trip and tested positive for Covid when I got back
