Hello!

First, I'll start with an into since this is my first post....my name is Rebecca, I'm from Michigan and I'm fairly new to motorcycles. Growing up I had a Honda XR and I currently have a Honda FatCat.

So with the problem...my parents just bought a farmhouse and everything on the land was included in the deal, including a few motorcycles. I've only been able to positively identify one because the vin was easily accessible. So I figured I'd post some pictures here to see if anyone could help spread their knowledge. I'd really appreciate it :) I'm mainly just trying to figure out what they are/worth.

These are sitting in the chicken coop, so not the best quality but what I think I'll do is pull them out this weekend and take better pictures to put into a public photobucket account.

Well, you do have a couple 650s there (pics 4, 5, and 6). The little one is some Honda trail bike and the other is a Kawasaki 4 from the late '70s probably. Honestly, they're all kinda junky and if you have no titles (which you probably don't), that would make them parts bikes. I only give $50 to $100 for Jap parts bikes and the $100 ones need to be in much better shape than what you have. Those are $50 bikes to me.

Welcome,

pic 4/5; 72XS650, could be a 73 but the tank gas cap looks to be the 72.

Pic 6; 78 or 79 Standard XS650. Last of the standards and very sort after.

Vin numbers are on the neck and motor numbers are behind the front motor mount, they should be matching.

Good scores.

I'd say the pair of XS650's with titles should get you $500.00 in that condition. They are very rusty and ruff. The Kawasaki I have no Idea. If it was a 900 or 1000cc engine, maybe $300.00 tops. The little trial 90, if you have all the top end engine parts, would get some pretty good money too.

I dissagree with plane ben on what the bikes are worth.

Titled necks are selling for $250 each and some of the parts on your bikes (seats especially look to be in good nick), are worth money. You have the wheels and hubs and 35mm forks and the engines, 72 is a 256 and 79 is a 447.

A Link to a buyers guide. reference to the front twin disc models is not relivent to the States. American models had single rotor front disk brakes.

The tanks,( if ok or not rusted through), look to be repairable and not to damaged on the outside. all the parts look to be there on the one i thought was the 78 or 79 Standard, (the seat looks to be from a 79 Standard)

650skull; Prices vary relative to where you live I guess. Here in Arizona, a titled neck will bring $100.00. That '72, rusted like it is, about a $150.00 tops. Back east where those are, probably more. I'm currently waiting a guy out on a special with the fancy double crossed spoke wheels. It's sitting in my in-laws apartment parking lot baking in the sun. Left my number and $400.00 dollar offer on the tank. He called and said $600.00. I don't need it now so I'll wait and see.

The big 4 is a Kawasaki 900 or 1000. No way to say for sure from that pic. You would have check the engine number. The long square is where the starter motor should be, with a chrome cover over it. Both are missing. Lot's of these built from 73-78, not rare, and in that condition $100 to $200. If it is a first year Z1 {1973} it might bring more

OK lets put some prices on them for you. The big find is the HONDA TRAIL its a collectors idem and I have sold them complete for $1500.00. The Kawasaki if its a early 1970 KZ900 Parts worth $1000.00 and if its a runner more but it looks like a KZ 650. Look at vin tells you size. Both the XS650 are $300.00 to $500.00 parts bikes buy break apart and they are worth more.
You found some money and if you got title for Honda put it up on EBAY and watch. I sold last year a QA50 for $2000.00. OLD Hondas are bank. That bike if its a CT90 was only made a couple years and more of them sold in the mid west. I was a Honda Dealer and only sold 4 of them in the Philly area. GOOD find. Don't let people low ball you they know what you got. A guy 5 months ago put on a 1969 Honda CB750 on ebay didn't know what he had and started it out low. I contacted him and asked if he knew what he had and he said a Junk CB750 well it sold on EBAY for $11,000.....One of a kind SABNDCAST CB750 you will only see one in your life time. So do the research.

Daddy g, definately not a 650 Kawi 4. They have squared off cam cover corners, the 900-1000's have the rounded like this bike. Another clue here, is the rear duckbill. This rounded style is again a 900-1000, more rounded vs the 650's flatter wider duckbill. Not interchangeable from the 650 frame to the 900-1000 frame.

Agreed the lil Honda can bring some good money, but then you know that's because, and sing along with me "You meet the nicest people on a Honda" ! :)

Kawasaki's 900 had spoked rims 73,74 and 75.When the LTD. model came out in 76,they came with the mag wheels, like the one you have. It's probably a 76 -78 KZ 1000. That is also a "gem" in need of restoring. Good luck, and please take your time researching what you have before giving them away as "just old junky parts bikes".

Yep may be a KZ1000. There is a guy from Japan buys up all the ones on ebay. Local guy here just sold a restored one for $6,000. Here is a KZ650
