Help requested from the socialist state of california...i need an emissions label for 1978 yamaha

I’m curious. Do you have a Maxim or the standard with the big headlight?
Maxim, I think? I’m looking harder and it matches a Special. What’s the difference, how do I nail that down, would love to know?

Hahaha Now we are talking real crimes here Dirty Harry's brother at the DMV pulling out the six shooter
Make my Day --Trying to register a vehicle Hahahah Where did that go Cooperate fully and so

I once did not get through a set of Pipes .Being to loud .. 4 -5 men from the MOT inspection station on the yard They did not know what they was doing . Tight facial muscles I Would never get those pipes through no matter what paperwork I would produce.
No foul language or calling people names .
It was a question of their power not the technical facts which they refused to measure which was the rules.
I went to another station in a close by town ..and more or less drove through in first gear getting it approved .
Never again problems after that.

So I would look into that --- letting things cool down and then .With a white Shirt and Tie or so go to another town / office
Or maybe have a shop do it for you.

And yes Ladies gets a softer treatment Men don't want to be mean against Ladies or Children
That is part of Culture and Civilization
But motorcyclist --- Make my Day
Waiting on my soft treatment lol. I don’t think Patricia or Karen at the front desk care that I have a uterus, unfortunately 🥲

I did consider going to a different office. But technically, this one approved me twice. It’s the next step, the next rung up, that keeps auditing it and kicking it back for different reasons. So annoying.

WTF........
It's a suggestion to move to another state with less restrictiions. I understand fully having had to deal with New Jersey's Division of Motor Vehicles many years ago. Here in Hoosierland you have to take a number on arrival, even if you're the only one in the office. That's about it for the absurdities. Other than that the girls in the office deserve donuts they're so helpful.

and the DMV may tell you, "with less than 7500 miles, we consider it a new bike. New bikes must have the CA emissions tag plus the EPA tag."
That's easy. Tell them it has 9,276 miles on it.
If the speedo says less tell them it's been replaced.

I had a 2002 BMW that I built a pretty impressive motor for. Compression 9.5:1 lightened flywheel, Tii head, high lift 308 degree cam intake and exhaust upgrades, electronic ignition. In the late 80s I had to run it through the California emissions shed every year. The lumpy cam would not idle well below 900 or 1000 rpm and would not pass emissions. Each year before a trip to emmissions testing I would advance the piss out of the ignition timing, (the car ran like shit after 3500 rpm) but developed enough intake vacuum at the stock idle speed of 650 rpm and would pass the sensor up the tailpipe test. I miss that car...

Not in California… anything older than 10 years they don’t even look at the odometer.
