I'm trying to wire a generic car turn key type ignition to start my bike. I turn the key to start the bike and motor just turns over, no spark until I let off the key a little then a quick spark on the plugs.

Now, if I remove the blue/white wire and touch it straight to ground the bike fires up every time. I would rather not run a starter button so has anyone wired this style ignition and had it work?

I've bypassed all safety circuits, side stand, clutch, etc. also the starting circuit cutoff relay. I have the red/white wire from starter switch spliced to one of the red/white wires coming from the dual starter/headlight relay. Could this be my issue?

Any help is much appreciated...

well model and year would be a useful start.:wink2:

Without any detail of how precisely you have bypassed the safety features and how you have connected to the headlight/anti start safety relay its pratically impossible to know what you might have miswired.

It does sound like a relay issue i must say :)

lets at least have the year first and more info on how you have wired it up.
