Has anyone put a stock, spoked 19" xs wheel on a larger diameter hollow axle? Will I have to go to a mx or supermoto wheel?

I use a hollow axle in the rear; wish I could tell you what it's from, but it came out of the salvage stash at a local independent shop. Had to modify the right side chain adjuster and find a slightly thinner castle nut to fit it, other than that it was a bolt-on fit. I haven't found a suitable hollow axle for the front; since the OD there is only 17 mm., it could be a bit of a problem. To use a larger diameter axle you'd need to modify the sliders, and I wouldn't want to guess as to whether or not there's enough meat there to do it safely.
