Honda CB550 tank on XS?

Hi guys!

I saw a really cool Triumph with an old Honda CB550 (maybe CB500) tank on it. Has anyone know if the tank is a pretty easy match with a XS?

Almost anything is possible, it all depends on your creativity or if you know someone who can! I don't know off hand unfortunately, but I'm sure it could work with a little bit of cutting, tinkering or welding, maybe it even fits straight on!

A lot of the mid-`70s Honda CB and CL tanks have that same planform. When I first saw the pic, I was thinking CB-360. Their front mounts are backwards from the XS, with the post-and-rubber on the frame, and the 'C' type fitting on the tank. There is a thread here, somewhere, where someone welded posts on their XS to hold one of those tanks...

Ok, thanks! It sounds like the same trick when fitting a xs750 tank like alot of the cafe guys have done

The petcock also hits the top of your motor so you would have to move it.
