How can I wire up a test engine in my bike?

Just wondering if I can hook just the battery up to the red and green wires of my engine to test run it? I have the Pamco and I'm wondering if there is anything else I need to include?

It is kick only so I have no need to wire in a starter.

An engine stop switch in a handy place would be a good idea. Just hokking up the ignition and coil is an easy way to test run any engine. I have done simular many times. hook a wire from the battery + to the red/white wire at the coil leave the bikes enginne stop switch off, kick start or jump from a batterey to the starter to turn it over If the carbs are close and get gas then it runs.
