Went to check my oil level since lately she has been marking her territory, when I pulled the dipstick out it was all bent up and I nearly snapped it in half unscrewing it. No weird sounds or anything and I always keep up on the general maintenance. I did have to ride it to work (2 hour round trip) when it was 100 degrees outside. Dont know if that would have effected it or not and also took it for a six hour ride the other day. Let me know if anyone knows what caused this or if it has happened to anyone else.

The dipstick on a 650 passes very close to one of the transmission gears. If the damage to yours is about 5" from the end of the stick it probably found a way to get rubbed by the gear. You can put a bit of a bend or bow in the stick to help avoid the gear. You'll need to study the problem a bit and index the dipstick's position when seated to get the bow in the right spot.
