Guys, it all depends in the state where you live. Michigan, you apply for a title. In Ohio where I live if you don't have a title you aren't getting one, period, unless you want to spend $$ with a title company.

Have you ever looked into putting a lien on one. I believe its the same in any state. Its how salvage yards and auctions work. If someone leaves it in your yard or was there when you moved in they send out notifications to the owner. If he wants it he can have it. After he pays storage fee's. And if no one claims it then you gain the rights.

i live in MI and applied for a title like a week ago? and i got it in yesterdays mail!
