IMG_3304.JPG IMG_3306.JPG Finally got the cases back together. Working an hour at a time doesn't help get things done ✅! Hopefully top end will go a lot smoother and quicker.

IMG_3308.JPG IMG_3310.JPG IMG_3309.JPG So stoked on my new, LOCAL, Cerakoter. I was driving an hour each way to the old company I was working with, but found the end product lacking and communication poor. I've now discovered Rochester Vibratory, 10 minutes from my door, and they are a pleasure to work with. They mostly do commercial work, but they took me in and did an awesome job!! They even called and asked if they could keep one of the parts for an extra couple days because they weren't happy with the final results.

Still have to polish the fins on the top end, but 2 hours later, all covers polished and the top end is started. I think my shoulders are going to get some Tiger Balm tonight!

[IMG] Done, for all intents and purposes. I still have to hit a couple areas with the dremel buffing wheel. Hopefully I can get the top end together this week.

Wow - that is a cool look on the engine!

.....and when Fred asked you HTF you were going to get the full bike back upstairs, I wondered if you were going to ask your wife to help you....:lmao:

, I've got it figured out. It'll be moving up to the garage by the end of February. At least, if I stay on schedule.

So after a weekend of roundtuit's, I did finally get roundtuit, and installed my clutch with the 8 pack discs from ironheart cycles. Everything went smoothly and only ended up with one bleeder on the knuckles!

You are doing some really good work there! Will be a good looking bike for sure.
I assume you know the front sprocket has a missing tooth. Also, I can't tell from the picture, but make sure the heads of the 6 bolts on the clutch inner hub, are not proud of the surface of the hub. I seem to remember a thread in which that became a problem. It could prevent full separation of the plates.

Thanks Retired Gent!! I've been plugging away as time permits. You SCARED the bejesus out of me with the front sprocket comment. I blew up the picture and then sprinted downstairs only to realize it was camera angle! Sharp eyes though! The clutch screws are definitely below the top line of the clutch hub.

I made some progress after a couple weeks of sickness running through the house and some other setbacks. Engine is finally finished. On to the frame.

[IMG] Tank is in progress. New tunnel made up and filler skins to close the gaps. Almost ready to assemble and check fitment of everything. Then disassemble paint and powder coat, just to put it all back together!

Tank is just about done, I'm working on the mounts then it's off to body work and paint.

Twomany- I'll inspect it today , but I haven't noticed anything so far. We Added structure to the top motor mount, and I've been working in the area of the motor mounts quite a bit lately, but haven't actually been looking for an issue. Thanks!

Wow, it seems like I abandoned this thread. I've been updating on the 650fest thread, but not here. Lots have happened since March. My frame received its final welds and has been powder coated, the Harley tank was discarded for structural issues, new tins were figured out and modified to fit, and everything is ready for assembly.

Last I touched the bike was Sunday afternoon 8/6, and that was interrupted by a trip to the hospital because my wife was bit by my parents dog! Who knew a Westie could be so vicious? Overnight stay and IV antibiotics for the infection then off to Disney Monday afternoon.

I'm getting very concerned about finishing for 650fest, as I won't be back until Sunday afternoon. I still have to finish wiring, install tank and fender, put the chain on, and a whole litany of tiny jobs. All of this and only 4 days until I need to be on the road to Ohio!

Wish me luck! If anyone wants to stop by Rochester next week for some unpaid wrenching, reach out to me!! I'll be working from 2pm-?, every day next week with the hopes of finishing.

Edited to avoid confusion. No, my parents don't bite, their dog does!!:oops:

OK, maybe I read it too fast, but does it say that your wife was "bit by your parents"?
