Brother, I'm gona help you to a chair. Here, take this cane....Her name was Penny (Gloria Winters). She had a dog (Shadow). They lived on the Flying Crown Ranch. Ron Hagerthy was Clipper King. The show came on at 10:30 each Sat morning right after Jet Jackson (Richard Webb), he flew the Silver Dart. That came on right after National Velvet. That show "stunk out loud". A sad follow up to Fury with Peter Graves. That followed Howdy Doody at 8:30. Saturday morning TV.
Road Runner and Johnny Quest... Wile E. Coyote, Super Genius!Sky King huh? You guys speaking English? All I remember is Road Runner and Johnny Quest.
Peter Graves??? Why do I know that name?? Lead guy in "Mission Impossible? Brother to James Arness of "Gunsmoke".
Johnny Quest! One of my favorites! Anyone else remember the XL-5 and the show it was on?
That brings back memories... I grew up in England. A wee lad of 8-10 yrs... a little village called Boyton, a stones throw from the channel. In the early sixties, we owned the only TV in the village. Every Saturday morning, every kid in the village would show up (bearing gifts ) and we'd all gather 'round the telly to watch the newest episode of "Fireball XL-5."Anyone else remember the XL-5 and the show it was on?
Azman, fair point. The Comet would have done it if it hadn’t developed a habit of falling out of the sky.
707 was the original world shrinker but the 747 crammed them in and still flies today; a testament to brilliant design.
Liberator certainly belongs up there; another metal coffin crewed by those whose sense of duty outweighed the sheer terror. Even the Wellington and Mosquito, wood and fabric and so small and vulnerable compared to today’s multi million dollar stand off war machines. How far we’ve come in such a short space of time
Looks like next years road tripIf you're a military aviation history buff, that place is the holy grail. If any of you ever plan on going... takes at least 2 days to see it all.
Here's a virtual tour.
Jim you lucky dogA few yrs. back I worked at a place where we built Light Sport airplanes.... Renegade Falcons. One weekend the traveling Ford Tri Motor was in town giving rides. During a break, the Captain came over to check out our little birds, so I put him in the left seat of one and gave him a 30 min. demo ride. On the last Tri Motor flight of the day, he came and got me and put me in the right seat. For 20 minutes I got to fly the venerable Tri Motor. Talk about hog heaven.
